Where is the dive shop located?
We don't have a formal shop. Our boat is located in a marina called "Caleta" just north of El Presidente Hotel; approximately 3 miles south of downtown. All trips are arranged are by email: diving@emerald-dolphin.com or phone (USA Line) 1 207 52 2482 and we ask our clients to check in the day before by phone (Local) (987) 872 32 70 to go over any last minute logistics and to confirm their arrival on the island. We usually meet the clients at the arranged time of departure in the MARINA CALETA or at the hotel pier depending on the location of their hotel.
Will you pick me up at my hotel’s dock?
We pick up divers at hotels from Casa del Mar Hotel (just south of downtown) to the far southern resorts, including Iberostar. We do not pick up at the hotels north of downtown. Some hotels may charge their guests a daily fee for getting picked up by a dive shop other than the onsite dive operation. Ask your hotel when making reservations.
How do I get to Caleta?
All the taxis on the island know how to get to MARINA CALETA. Your hotel will arrange for a taxi to take you there. If you are coming from a cruise ship, there are plenty of taxi's available as you get off the ship. The price could approach $10 from the far north hotel district, about half that from most of the south hotels and the cruise ship docks. If you are coming from mainland Mexico (Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Cancun), please take the 8 a.m. ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel and then take a taxi to the marina caleta to meet the departure of the boat.
How do I contact you once I am on the island?
When you arrive on the island and get settled into your hotel, please call us at our office/home 872-3270 or via cellular 044-987-107-3630 to check in. If you have a US cell phone (that has signal), you may call us on our Internet US phone line (207)-512-2482 and it will not be an international call.
There are lots of boats. Which one is the Yucab III?
As you approach the waterfront in Caleta, our boat is located at the very entrance on the left-hand side just across from the security post. If you cannot find it just ask for the Yucab III or Tony Castillo and someone will be able to direct you to the correct place.
My cruise ship doesn't dock until 10am. Will I miss the boat?
The normal departure time from Caleta is 8:30 am. If your scheduled docking time is too late to make that, please let us know when you are arranging your dives. In most cases the departure time can be adjusted. Please specify the ships name, date and time of arrival when making the reservation.
What is the cost to dive?
The prices for many of the common things are listed on our web page information sheet. If you have a need for services not listed, please contact us via email: diving@emerald-dolphin.com or phone (USA Line) 1 207 52 2482 and will be glad to assist you.
Is there a deposit required? How do we pay?
There is no deposit required. If you say you are coming, your word is good enough. However, if something does happen and you can't make it, please contact us as soon as possible so someone else can enjoy the beauty of Cozumel. Payment will be accepted on the boat in cash or travelers checks, US Dollars or Mexican Pesos. We are sorry but we do not accept credit cards.
Are there restroom facilities?
Yes, there is a toilet onboard.
